Winemaker Colin Glaetzer has been referred to as the maker of some of the finest Barossa Valley wines. After completing an agriculture degree in 1968 and an oenology degree in 1970 both from Roseworthy College, Colin gained wide and diverse winemaking experience overseas and in many of Australia's noted wine regions. In 1985 Colin moved to the Barossa Valley to run Barossa Valley Estate, where he created the now revered E & E Black Pepper Shiraz and the Ebenezer range of wines. Colin's skill was brought to the fore and gained him recognition and commendation worldwide.

In 1995 Colin, along with wife Judith and their three sons, established Glaetzer Wines allowing the production of boutique super premium wines under a family owned label. Since the release of the first vintage in 1996 Glaetzer Wines has rapidly become a leader in the creation of super premium Barossa Valley wines.

Colin is a Baron of the Barossa - a title awarded in recognition of his winemaking skills and his contribution to the cultural traditions of the Barossa Valley.
